The Venue

The city of Lund, founded in the 10th century. What a visitor first notices is the well-preserved medieval city center, with its winding, cobblestone streets, cross-timbered buildings, resplendent verdure and the thousand-year-old cathedral. Yet with a population of over 100,000 and 38,000 students, Lund is also the eternally young city.

Naturally Lund is highly renowned for its university, with world-class education and research in a great many fields. But it is also the home of Ideon Science Park, one of the largest in Europe, and many internationally famous companies, large and small, in areas such as environment and energy technology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, information technology, food, packaging, processing equipment and many more. Lund also offers a rich and varied cultural life.

Lund has a history of innovations, emanating from the close contact between research and companies. Dialysis apparatus from Gambro, the ingenious paper packaging from Tetra Pak, AstraZeneca’s Turbuhaler and the modern telephony from Ericsson are just a dew of the innovations that were sown and cultivated in this milieu, resulting in enormous commercial successes and a better life for millions of people.

The INNOVATION IN MIND — Innovation Conference will be held in the very core of Lund: the University quadrangle in the exquisite park called Lundagård
