Lars J Nilsson
Lars J Nilsson has 20 years of experience in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy, as well as energy and climate policy. As professor of Environmental and Energy Systems Studies at Lund University, he focuses on understanding mechanisms and instruments of change in energy systems. The topical focus has being on renewable energy and energy efficiency in the context of evolving energy systems. Seeing the possibilities and showing that there is evidence that energy for sustainable development is viable from a resource, technical and economic perspective. He is a lead author in the forthcoming IPCC Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation and is currently Director of the 4 MEUR research programme LETS: Governing Transitions to Low Carbon Energy and Transport Systems. Lars J Nilsson is also a member of the reference group for the IEA Energy Efficiency Governance project. He is co-founder of the start-up company Devenz AB with the purpose of commercialising green chemicals.
